Homework

Homework is sent home one night per week, usually on Wednesdays.  It is due back the next day.  There are occasional “family projects” that are completed at home i.e. a 100 day project..

Discipline

To help the children learn expected school behavior, we implement a “bee” system.  Children are given warnings for behavior missteps.  Three warnings in one day result in that child’s bee going to the visual beehive and the child getting a time out. However, we always try redirecting unwanted behavior and praise for good behavior first.

Absenteeism

If a child is absent, the school office should be called before school begins.  The child should return to school with a note explaining the absence.   Extended absences/vacations should be reported to the office, using the Extended Abscence form, found in the parent handbook.
