The 8th grade book, “The Story of Our Church,” explains how the Church in its 2,000-year history has responded to the mission of Jesus Christ entrusted to His first disciples. It studies the challenges that have faced the Church over time; and celebrates the efforts of members who have helped the church survive and flourish. Students are expected to bring their text and a Religion notebook to class. They will participate in discussions, reflections, and sharing on a regular basis in class. Expectations as far as behavior and timely completion of work are consistent with those of the rest of the junior high team. Fuel the Faith Program: This is an incentive program in which students are able to earn coupons redeemable for bonus points on graded assignments. “Fuel the Faith” coupons are awarded to students who are able to share with the class stories of faith alive in people with whom they come in contact. The opportunity to share instances of people “fueling the faith” is available to the students each Friday on a volunteer basis. Click here to see an example of the "Fuel the Faith" coupon.
