Our Community

Be Part of Our Community

Everyone wants the best for their children. And a Catholic education is a big part of that. Not just for faith formation, but for the careful shaping of each student into good citizens who become exemplary members of society. That’s what you’ll find, and what your children will experience, when you become part of the St. Petronille community. It’s the kind of nurturing, tight knit community that the entire parish—not just the school—provides. It’s also a far more personalized and caring approach to education and development than you’ll find in the public sector.

Of course, our primary goal is to provide a superior education that lays the groundwork to set our students up as the kind of people we can all be proud of. Our academic standards are second to none and our test scores bear that out. Our graduates leave St. Pets well-prepared for the demands of high school and the subsequent challenges of college as well as the joys and obstacles of life itself.

Just as important to us, however, is the specialness that comes with being involved with everything from retreats to sports to volunteering at St. Pets: the sense of belonging, the lifelong friendships that are developed here, the enduring Catholic faith, the meaningful experiences, the ample opportunities to give back, the pride that goes along with accomplishment and the self-satisfaction that comes from being a good person.

It’s the cumulative effect of those life experiences, coupled with educational excellence, that serves St. Petronille graduates well throughout their lives. That is what sets St. Pets apart, and we invite you and your family to experience that difference for yourself. Like so many families before you, you will find it is an experience you will treasure forever.

Parent and Parish Support

School Board

The School Board works to (1) develop and define policies that govern the operation of St. Petronille School and (2) promote the implementation of these policies. The School Board insures that all policies are in accord with the intent and spirit of the policies established for the school system by the Joliet Diocesan Board of Education. Nine to twelve School Board members are elected to serve three-year terms.

Parent Organization (PO)

The Parent Organization is a vital part of our school. It enhances the education at St. Pets by integrating our families into the life of our school community. The PO sponsors educational, cultural, spiritual and athletic programs for our students and supports our faculty and administration. We can offer our student so much in large part due to our active and incredible Parent Organization.

Current St. Pets families can view the Parent Organization page on SchoolSpeak.
